I am dual qualified Engineer/Accountant with an A1 in Honours Leaving Certificate Mathematics. I have been tutoring in Maths and Accounting privately and in DCU for the past 10 years.
I have had great success with my students in the past and I believe it is down to three factors:
- I make a point of making each session an enjoyable experience for the student. I firmly believe having some fun during my sessions is as important as the hard work involved. I want my students to treat me as a friend, not their teacher.
- I try to break down the subjects into easy to understand ideas, often using examples from everyday life. I never use “big” words or complex phrases. My motto is “ Keep it simple – reduce stress!”
-Having Patience with the student is what distinguishes a good tutor from a bad tutor.
I have limited capacity each academic year as I usually fill up quickly from word of mouth from the previous year. Please book early for the 2009/2010 academic year to avoid disappointment.
